What is the theme "No Diving" about? What's the meaning behind that name?

"No Diving is about us creatives being careful with the risks we take. Often us artist put ourselves out there to be discovered, seen, heard, (and) possibly go viral." - GRXZZLY

Curated by PassDaAux member GRXZZLY, "No Diving" had a lineup consisting of LB199X, Jewel., Timi Turnup, DanVHefner, Android Reaper, Saneit Monnae, and GRXZZLY himself. Like shows from previous seasons the event was held at The Electric Maid a storefront community center in Washington D.C.

Performances:

Jewel

Jewel knows how to have a great time delivering smile-inducing vocals over melodic production. Jewel. has audacity and skill singing sweet choruses and recounting fond memories from her past. She performed'Mariah" and "Sauce Bae" a spicy 3rdeyesound produced single with a sweet chorus and immersive instrumental.

Timi Turnup

Timi Turnup is confident, likable, and bit of a goof. Dealing with some technical difficulties before his first song of the night, Timi improvised with an impromptu freestyle that was crisp, coherent and entertaining. A showman through and through Timi had a stellar set that amped up and amazed the crowd flossing on "Hypbeasts" a catchy record about his originality and a strong sense of personal style.

GRXZZLY

GRXZZLY raps like he gives a damn about his craft putting thought and effort into his lyrics and delivery. He's always ready to go bless the booth with nostalgia-inducing music that emphasizes technique over frills and gimmicks. He's a lyricist and Hip-Hop student.GRXZZLY performed "Savauge" and "Different" two technically-sound tracks that have a commanding energy to them.

LB199X

LB199X knows how to make you feel his music sincerely spitting enlightening bars about black empowerment and the black experience he inspires people through his music and does it with honesty and reflection.LB199X ripped it with an unmatched flow coming full force on each track and leaving the audience in awe with his content and the way he delivered it. Seeing LB199X body "Charge it to the Game" was a spiritual experience it bought joy to my soul.

Saneit Monae

The only R&B singer of the night, Saneit delivered two tracks 'Greener" and "No Luv 4 U" an antilove ballet about a tumultuous past relationship on which she emotes and elaborates on the negative actions that prompted her to leave.

Droid Reaper

Droid Reaper has an ominous and dark sound and raps with quirky vocals and forceful flows over entrancing instrumentals. His light voice is complemented by heavy beats that give off an Underground Rap feel similar to Craig Xen mixed with The Underachievers.

DanVHefner

DanVHefner is a Virginia artist with a dark and bouncy sound that'll make you want to kick off a mosh pit and start a scene it's energetic and at times infectious enough to lose yourself in the music it has am entrancing feel. One of the only performers to step off stage during his set, Dan bounced around the front of the room performing "Pint" a bass-rattling track taken from his "Speak of the Devil" EP getting onlookers to loosen up and start to move a little. DanVHefner delivered a fun performance that lifted the energy in the room.
